Competition is shaping up for the second annual Corporate, Community and first annual K-12 Cup Challenges, as part of Live Healthy Iowa’s 10 Week Wellness Challenge held Jan. 28 – April 5. Communities, businesses and schools are invited to rally citizens, employees and students to adopt healthy lifestyle changes while in competition for the coveted traveling trophies of each division. Bill Leaver, President and CEO of Iowa Health System and Steve Lacy, CEO of Meredith Corporation will again serve as Cup Challenge Co-Chairs, encouraging Iowans to take the challenge.
The 2012 Cup Challenge winners made great strides in implementing a healthy environment and positive lifestyle choices; and they’re ready to retain the titles again in 2013! Last year’s Corporate Cup Challenge trophies currently reside with Siouxland District Health Department, Meredith Corporation and Wellmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield for the small, mid-sized and large company division, respectively. Allamakee County holds the 2012 Community Cup Challenge trophy.
In the Corporate Cup Challenge, companies will be segmented into 3 divisions based on employee population. Winners of each division will be determined based on highest percentage of eligible workforce starting and completing the challenge. The Community Cup Challenge winner will be awarded to the city, county or region with the highest percentage of adults starting and completing the challenge in addition to participation in the Live Healthy Iowa Kid’s 10 Week Wellness Challenge. The K-12 Cup Challenge winner will be awarded to the highest percentage of students and adult staff participating and completing the youth and adult challenges, respectively.
