LHI Tip of the Week – Step It Up

We are already into week 4 of The Next Step Challenge and the competition is heating up! Are you getting the hang of your routine and new habits to rack up steps on your pedometer? Are your steps pretty consistent from day to day? As we dive into the final few weeks of the challenge, it is the perfect time to set a new goal for yourself. Add an extra 5 or 10 minutes to your daily walk, park a little farther away from the office and shoot to increase your daily step count by 10% or an extra 1,000 steps. You will be surprised how quickly your steps will add up!

increase-exerciseIf you’re competing with other teams at your office or in your neighborhood, ignite your will to win and step it up! There’s no time for excuses and no reason another team should be ahead of yours. Rally your teammates and kick it into gear, the challenge isn’t over yet and your team can win this!

Don’t forget to check if you or your team has won a mid-way incentive! Live Healthy Iowa is giving away $5 Subway gift cards to participants on XX teams and four participants will win a pair of tickets to the Iowa State vs. Kansas game.
